The long awaited Mission 5 is finally about to begin. All of you remember to use the posting symbols from the last mission.
And the most important rule:
NO FIGHTING, NO SHOOTING, NO ENEMIES
IT'S A PEACEFUL MISSION!!!!!!!!
This will make you want to join in the mission.
The mission reward!!!
The person who does the most to advance the first contact the most successfully (it could be in the negotiations, or with the general public of the planet we will meet) will get the mission's best reward.

Mission 5's general subject: First Contact with an alien species who has just developed warp drive. (Thanks to Commander Luke for this idea).

START OF MISSION:

Captain's Log Stardate 56034.5
The Columbia has been sent to the planet Kelias VIII where a new species known as the Rolaterans (rol-a-tear-anns) has just developed warp drive. Due to the danger of attack in that sector, the Federation feels it is best to protect this planet. A new starbase will hopefully be constructed in this sector if negotiations are successful. Most of the crew will be beamed down to the planet to talk to the population and aid in their joining the Federation. Starfleet has authorised me to promote the officer I feel has best performed in this mission.
END LOG
Simmo walked onto the bridge of the USS Columbia for the second mission with the ship. Once again the bridge was empty as the crew were rejoining the ship again.
We were welcoming our new Ensigns to the ship, fresh from training on the USS 10to5.
Simmo: +tap+ "This is the captain speaking. All hands, prepare for departure. We're leaving. All crew to duty stations."
The bridge crew walked onto the bridge.

The captain had ordered everyone to duty stations, but Commander Scooter didn't see a need to be in sickbay. While they were at the starbase, Scooter had removed Dobberman's appendix, but he was recovering now, and Scooter had left Obiko in charge of sickbay. This would be a peaceful mission, and Commander Scooter hoped to get some more bridge time in. There were four duty shifts each day, and Commander Scooter had filled in a request to command the bridge during one of them. He was waiting for the captain to review his request.
As Scooter walked onto the bridge, he saw Captain Simmo sitting in the big chair. Daniels was at the helm, Ensign Kim was at communications, Kamakazie at tactical. The environment station was unoccupied, so Scooter sat down to watch.
Simmo: "Helm, take us out."
Daniels: "Aye sir, backing us out one quarter impulse."
Simmo: "Set course for Kelias VIII, warp 6.5"
*Simmo glances over at Scooter.*
Simmo: "Commander, would you like to do the honors?"
Scooter: "Thank you sir."
*Scooter turns to Daniels.*
Scooter: "Engage!"
OFF:
I didn't list everyone on the bridge, so there is a bit of leeway for someone from science and someone from engineering to be present, and possibly a first officer if Carlos wants to be.

Scooter: "Hi, could you point me towards the capital building?"
Old guy: "Yes, it's right over there."
Scooter: "Thank you."

+carlos: this is the command center of the ship, here we control the ship, around this corridor we have the transporter where we can transport to places, around this other corridor we have the junior officers quarters where they sleep and eat, around this next corridor is Main Engineering deck 1 which is the upper level of the power center of the ship which powers up the systems+
*deck 2*
+carlos: this is main engineering deck 2 which is the lower level of the power center of the ship which powers up the systems which houses the controls for the warp core, around this corridor is the Computer core which is the ships data source, around this corridor we have the senior officers quarters, when we go around this next corridor we find another transporter room, around the next corridor is the science labs where we perform science/medical experiments and scientific/medical studies, next to this is Sickbay where we perform medical checkups/examinations and surgical procedures, next to this is the mess hall where we eat, now lets go to the impulse engine room where we can travel at sublight speeds+
*deck 3*
+carlos: over here is a shuttle bay and a cargo bay, next we have a holodeck, after that is some more cargo bays and a cargo transporter pad, after this is the docking ports+
*deck 4*
+carlos: all thats here to see is the landing pads to land on planets, any questions+
+rolateran leader: none, you covered everything so clearly, the holodecks interested me the most, can you replicate a lake that I go to every day to catch fish+

*carlos waits at the door to the holodeck while the rolateran leader catches fish and carlos falls asleep outside the holodeck*
*time passes and the rolateran leader catches lots of fish*
*by this time carlos wakes up and tells Manhunter to watch the rolateran leader while carlos goes to his quarters and falls asleep only to wake up a few hours later and goes back to the holodeck and tells manhunter to go back to his security station while carlos takes the rolateran leader back to the planet*

It wasrr Skywalker's first day on the job,and he was extreamly exited.But just then,while he was checking sensors,he saw a small direlect vessal over 300 years old.
Skywalker:"What the heck is that??"
+Skywalker to the Bridge,I've just checked sensors,and Im picking up a small Direlect vessel of Romulan decent that apears to be over 300 years old.Wait,theres more..It apears to be a research ship.It contains vital info on this area.Aparently,it was damaged in an attack.I dont know who did it,we need to get inside and access the ships control room to get more info.It apears to be 10003(Or,if sensors dont go that far,the closest number) kilomiters away.When were done with the process,I sugest we check it out.Skywalker out.+

Maybe Skywalker and some security people (not NPCs) should take a shuttle over there. That would give them something to do that is more interesting than exploring the planet. If Simmo thinks this is a good idea, he should make a separate topic where people can sign up to go over there.

Escort: "Leem."
Sporto: "I'm Sporto, nice to meet you Leem."
*Shakes hands. Leem looks confused*
Sporto: "It's a greeting we humans use."
Leem: "I see. Well, the plant's this way."
*He leads Sporto to an electric powered 6 wheel vehicle. They get in and the car speeds off to the plant. Just then, Sporto's comm badge beeps.*
Sporto: +Sporto here.+
Carlos: +Sporto, Luke has discovered a derilect alien vessel. It appears to be Romulan, almost 300 years old. I want to send an away team to take a look. They'll probably need an engineer.+
Sporto: +Well, I'm a little busy. Why don't you send FliX and Dobberman...wait...nevermind, he's still recovering in sickbay. All right, send FliX and Solan, they should be able to handle anything they find over there.+
Carlos: +Good idea, we'll do that. Carlos out.+
*As Sporto finished the conversation, the vehicle pulled to a stop and the door opened*
Leem: "We're here."
*They exited the vehicle and Leem showed Sporto inside the plant. Sporto went to the reactor and had a look*
Sporto: "Wait, didn't your people invent antimatter technology only 2 months ago?"
Leem: "That's right. Why?"
Sporto: "You're already using it world-wide? That's amazing! It took us a lot longer to do. You're culture is advancing technologically at a much higher rate than mine. At this rate, you may even overtake us in a few hundred years. That's something to be proud of."
Leem: "There's much more to see."
Sporto: "Then let's see it."
*They continue the tour in great detail*

'Chief of Operation's Log Suplimental, I have been watching every system carefully and dfrom what i am seeing is that there is a power fluxtation which is damping our power. I think it is coming from that Romulan ship.'

Captain's Log Supplemental
Ive been on the bridge monitoring the crew's progress in the negotiations. It has been quite quiet up here, but I've been working on researching the crashed derelict. I believe it is now time to meet some of the government.
Captain Simmo walked to his quarters and took out his dress uniform and got re-dressed before heading to the transporter room.
<On the planet>
The government officials had been expecting the captain's arrival, and watched in amazement as the transport took place.
Official: Captain, welcome to the planet.
Simmo: It's good to meet you. Please accept this as a token of good faith.
<Simmo hands the official a special starfleet thingy that they gave on first contact missions>

I have been studying the dirlect with the science team,and we have gotten no further infromation.However,we have found a good spot to beam in on,Engineering.From there,we can access the control room.

*After another brief ride in the 6 wheeled vehicle, they arrive at a reatively small building*
Sporto: "The whole plant's in there?"
Leem: "No, this building is simply the recieving center; the end of the line. This is where people come to request just about anything. It is put into a que and constructed. Once completed, it arrives in this building, where it is picked up by the requestees."
*When they entered the building, Sporto noticed that the room was pretty much empty except for some waiting benchs and some controls on the other side of the room. Then he looked down. The floor was all glass, and veiwed an immense cavern beneath the building, which was occupied by the factory.*
Sporto: "This is amazing!"
Leem: "Let me show you how it works."

I had suggested a shuttle because the derelict was at the edge of our sensor range, which is WAY beyond transporter range.

Chief of security's Log supplimental, I have downloaded all of the data from the derilct vessel and it is not pretty. It looks like monsters have killed all the crew. While the away team is getting samples and holo images I am left on the Columbia.

The Flood: a species so eminently threatening that a powerful and ancient civilization constructed a habital planet ten thousand kilometers in diameter to contain and observe them. The Flood are as numerous as they are voracious; they neither surrender nor retreat. The Flood appear to be pseudo-parasitic, and have a simple procedure for reproduction.
There are three known types of Flood. There are the Spore class of Flood, the Carrier class of Flood, and what seems to be a Worker/Soldier class. To explain how the process begins would lead into a chicken-and-the-egg discussion, so we'll begin at the Spores. The spores are small, tentacled creatures which have their own defined biological framework, which isn't dependent upon a host. A spore will seek out any life of capable biomass to sustain itself, and proceed to attempt using the creature as a host. From here, it is assumed that one of two changes will occur in the host.
The first is that the host will remain physically unchanged, save for the spore attached to it. These would be the Worker/Soldier class, used for manual labor such as building, gathering, repairing, or defensive/offensive actions. So far, only Romulans and Covant elites have been seen to mutate into Workers/Soldiers.
The second host possibility is that of the Carrier, which presumably only affects creatures who are physically or mentally unsuitable to be Workers/Soldiers (it IS possible that Carriers are simply fully-grown Spores). The Carriers grow large epidermic sacs which contain several Spore-class Flood. When a Carrier is in close proximity to any number of suitable hosts, it triggers some manner of biochemical reaction, causing the pus-filled sacs to explode and spread the Spores in order to infect more hosts, and perpetuate the cycle of reproduction.
But as 303 Red Spark states, the parasitic nature of the Flood belies their intelligence. What's interesting is that they're able to function the machinery and technology of their host to an amazing degree. They are able to fire weaponry and repair damaged electrical and mechanical machinery at a surprisingly normal level. It would seem that the Flood have some ability to access host memory, and utilize it to their advantage.Though not intelegent,these aliens posess an extreme threat to everyone in the Galaxy.

Some people had had 4 straight missions of fighting. It was boring. Now if you don't like the way the mission is going, then tell me, and I'll try to find you something to do. DO NOT GO ALTERING THE CONCEPT OF THE MISSION. As for blowing the planet up...

Mission 4 was meant to be peaceful, but it turned mad! Dominion ships for heavens sake!

Captain's Log Supplemental
The away team has returned from the derelict vessel. I have ordered the crew who are willing to return to the planet to do so. Therefore, our most experienced, and most sensible crewmembers, myself, Commander Scooter, Commander Carlos and Lt. Commander Sporto78 are returning to the planet. The rest of the crew are "enjoying" a holodeck program in one of the holodecks.
The captain returned to the planet and continued his tour with the offical, who he found out was Minister Koliath Jelett.

*the security team return to the columbia*
carlos: Simmo, the alien creatures have been sent to their own dimension
simmo: okay, lets complete our mission, report to sickbay then return to the planet

"Hmm" he thought. I wonder where he is.
Skywalker: "Computer, locate the captain."
Computer: "The captain is on Kelias 8."
Skywalker: "Oh great, I guess I have to go see him."
<On the planet>
Commander Scooter's voice contacted Simmo on the communicator.
Scooter: +"Sir, I've found Skywalker in the holodeck, he's not happy. I've sent him to the ready room."+
Simmo: "I'm on the planet. Show initiative, deal with it yourself, since you want command experience."

EDIT2: It makes even less sense now you've all edited your posts. Skywalker, OK, we'll investigate the flood in mission 6 (I wasnt serious about having peaceful missions until we get it right)

I'm fed up with this now. It's such a mess!
ON:
The captain walked around the ship with his phaser compression rifle shooting everyone he could find. Since he never liked blood, no-one bled when shot.
After killing everyone, he said, "Computer, end program."
The holodeck program ended and it turned out that all this mission was just a holodeck program.

Sorry for those that were enjoying this, if you could, since this was a mess, but we're going to have to stop, since this mission has turned into a big pile of cr*p.
