ERP Virtual Fleet

The Virtual Fleet

The ERP Virtual Fleet was established to faciliate high quality roleplaying with continuing storylines, recurring participants and a regular schedule. Participants in the Virtual Fleet roleplayed once a week at a specified time, establishing their own characters and developed them through continuing plot lines. Between the weekly roleplays, members could continue the plot through posting of logs and other roleplaying on the ERP forums.

Membership of Virtual Fleet sessions was initially open to those of Ensign rank (or equivalent) and higher, though it later opened up to all ranks and even to the public.

First established in the Star Trek division (which this page details), similar sessions followed in the other divisions.

USS Silver Flair

Technically the first vessel of the Virtual Fleet, the USS Silver Flair was an Excelsior-class vessel. A crew was eagerly assembled for the initial attempt. This was initially intended to be based on its own map, but when that map was not completed the project was scrapped.

Starbase ERP (Starbase 315)

Commanding Officer: Voral (AlphaOmega)

Forum-based RP

The Starbase acted as the hub of the entire ERP Virtual Fleet, and was the place from which all ships and missions originated. Ships could dock, resupply and undergo routine maintenance and repairs, and the base could provide an excellent site for any negotiations. The base was well armed and able to defend itself should the need arise. Its commercial centres provided a wide variety of items from Vulcan, Bajor, Earth and beyond.

USS Castille NCC-72910

Commanding Officer: S'tal

Roleplay Times: Weekends at 8PM EST (Sat) / 1AM GMT (Sun)

One of the three Virtual Fleet vessels created for its formal relaunch, the Castille was the most successful and long-lasting of the trio. The Castille was a Nebula-class vessel.

A second vessel to bear the name, the Castille-A, a Sovereign-class vessel, made use of the Enterprise-E Express map by Will and Anthony of ST-RP, and was accompanied by a retexture pack to adjust the name and registry on the map for better roleplaying immersion.

USS Ranger

One of the three Virtual Fleet vessels created for its formal relaunch. The Ranger's adventures continued for several months. After a controversial plot involving a super race, the Virtual Fleet went into a short hiatus in March 2004. On its return the Ranger was replaced by the Peacemillion (see below).

USS San Jacinto

One of the three Virtual Fleet vessels created for its formal relaunch. The San Jacinto was cancelled after a few weeks due to various mapping and command issues.

USS Peacemillion NCC-48512-A

Commanding Officer: Jason Archer

Roleplay Times: Tuesdays at 4:20PM EST / 9:20PM GMT

An Intrepid-class vessel, the Peacemillion's mission in the fleet was mainly exploration, but the ship was also equipped for ambassadorial missions, and defensive situations should the need arise. The ship's state of the art technology permitted it to be called upon in any number of duties, and could come to the aid of anyone in need, where it's dedicated medical staff could handle numerous patients at once. The Peacemillion's crew were determined to uphold the ideals of the Federation and of Starfleet. From it's home base at Starbase ERP, the ship journeyed to the limits of the Federation and beyond.

During a quiet period, the Peacemillion became a forum-based roleplay at the request of its captain, before interest returned and it resumed its original format.

USS Al-Batani NCC-42995

Commanding Officer: Alex L

Roleplay Times: Sundays at 11AM EST / 4PM GMT

The Al-Batani was the first Virtual Fleet vessel to be open to the public and not only ERP members. It was intended to be the same vessel on which Kathryn Janeway was first posted.

It eventually became inactive and later morphed into the USS Gemini.

USS Gemini NCC-77250

Commanding Officer: Duo Maxwell

The Gemini was the replacement for the Al-Batani.

Starbase Horizon (R&D)

Commanding Officer: Doc Phil

Roleplay Times: Tuesdays at 4:20PM EST / 9:20PM GMT

To allow for more choices in the Virtual Fleet and introduce new scenarios, the Starbase Horizon station was created in October 2004 and proved a success.

USS Hammerhead NCC-76580

Forum-based RP

A Sovereign-class vessel, the Hammerhead was one of two vessels that began in the ERP Non-Server Roleplaying (forum-based) division. When NSRP was merged with the main Star Trek division, the Hammerhead officially became part of the Virtual Fleet.

USS Morning Star NCC-67932

Forum-based RP

An Akira-class vessel, the Morning Star was one of two vessels that began in the ERP Non-Server Roleplaying (forum-based) division. When NSRP was merged with the main Star Trek division, the Morning Star officially became part of the Virtual Fleet.

USS Bastet NCC-76846

Commanding Officer: Anthony Sewell

The Bastet, a Sovereign-class vessel, was one of the last Virtual Fleet vessels to be created. It fell victim to low activity in ERP at the time.

USS Expedition NCC-77000

Forum-based RP

As activity in the Star Trek division continued to wind down, all remaining ships were scrapped and replaced by this totally forum-based vessel.

12th Fleet

At some point in time during the life of the Virtual Fleet, the following vessels made up the wider 12th Fleet. Aside from any vessels listed above, these ships were not actively played, but served as vessels that could be referenced during ongoing storylines.
